Omhu is a Danish word that can’t be translated into one word. The word embraces conscientiousness, honest intention and perfectionism. This is the way OMHU wish to do their work. OMHU is high-quality bedding and linens that is made with the future in mind. All their textiles are made with a clear goal to be environmentally friendly – from start to finish.

OMHU is created around a concept of classic woven bedding that all have the best certifications. Every textile that you find at OMHU has five certifications: GOTS, OEKO-TEX, the Nordic Ecolabel, Fairtrade, and SA 8000. The certifications are Omhu’s way of making sure that all their linens are helping the world, its climate and its people. The brand follows production all the way from start to finish, which means that nothing is coincidental when it comes to their linens. The end result are timeless high quality products in classic patterns and weaves with a modern appeal.

OMHU produce and create products that live up to their high requirements to protect nature and people. All products have five certifications that guarantee organic textile production, social responsibility and no use of harmful substances. On top of that, all packaging and shipments are made in FSC certified boxes.

All OMHU textiles are certified GOTS, Fairtrade, SA 8000, The Nordic Ecolabel and OEKO-TEX which ensures the highest standards for sustainability. OMHU are aware that they have a responsibility to reduce their impact on the world in terms of both the environment and unsafe working conditions. The brand strives to run a company that creates value for its employees, suppliers, consumers, the local community and the environmental. Through their certifications they make sure to contribute with social, economic and environmental sustainability.

OMHU always seek to do better. Therefore, they have structures and schedules in place that track their present and potential harmful impacts on human rights and the environment to initiate improvements through Due Diligence. Their clear policies and future ambitions on production methods and working conditions makes a holistic company that cherishes people and nature in the entire supply chain. OMHU’s also work against corruption as the brand has anti-corruption policies. These forbid any form of bribery, corruption, and trade with influence from agents, middlemen or other third parties, as well as outlaw money laundering and nepotism. Quality, low environmental impact and CSR in general are a huge part of OMHU’s agenda. It is this fundamental approach to production of linen and bedding that make them the better choice for you, our planet and the future.

The Design Phase is a crucial part of determining a product’s sustainable capabilities. We’ve chosen to highlight a few genius steps that enable a sustainable product right from the beginning.

    Material & Material Extraction

    The materials used for a certain product and how these materials come to life are of crucial importance to the sustainable capabilities we seek in products.

      Transportation of Materials

      This step relates to the transportation of the raw materials from when they are first obtained (harvested etc.) to the production site. Obviously, the closer to the production site, the better.


        Obviously, the production of a certain product has an impact on the overall level of sustainability. Luckily, many manufacturers have now taken steps towards more sustainable production methods.


          How a brand chooses to package its products will have a significant influence of the carbon impact from packaging and transportation.


            This step relates to the distribution of products when they have been produced. Obviously, the closer to the brand’s warehouse, the better.


              How you choose to use and take care of a product has a bigger impact than you think. Just think about how much longer a shirt lasts if it has been washed in the right way.

                End of life

                At this step, there is no way out and we have to find some way of discarding our product. How we discard a product will significantly influence the opportunity of reusing materials used.
