About Porcelain Perfumery

The Danish brand, PORCELAIN, was founded in 2019 by natural perfumer Stine Hoff. Stine had a desire to bring together nature, luxury and perfumery. By gathering inspiration from around the world, she was able to create natural perfumes that focus on high quality and 100% natural ingredients while reviving the age-old tradition of porcelain perfume bottles.

PORCELAIN reconnects perfume with nature and transforms scents from carefully selected natural ingredients into perfumes. The elegant brand combines the artisan skill of natural perfumery with the craftsmanship of delicate porcelain to reignite the ancient art of perfume making. They are a clear contrast to synthetic perfumes that cause headaches and nausea. Instead, PORCELAIN perfumes combine nature’s raw materials and essences to create perfumes that are produced through environmentally friendly processes.

Brand sustainability

PORCELAIN acknowledge that making perfume should take time and are firm believers of slow beauty. Natural perfumes require great skill and patience to create. PORCELAIN appreciate that the perfect natural scents and perfumes are not created overnight. At the same time, this is also what allows the brand to carefully cultivate their niche scents in a holistic way. The perfumes are created with the future and the earth in mind and the processes used to create the perfumery are environmentally friendly.

PORCELAIN is certified by the International Perfume Foundation which prohibits perfumers to use synthetic compounds, parabens, animals as testing and much more. It is a clear testimony to creating a better world for future generations and being IPF certified merely highlights PORCELAIN’s values. The bottles that PORCELAIN perfumery comes in take their cues from vintage porcelain vessels and contribute to the perfume's longevity. The design honors the clean lines and functionality of Scandinavian design. However, the bottles are not just beautiful to look at. The opaque bottles also ensure that the perfume within isn’t degraded.

Quality and authenticity lie in the heart of PORCELAIN’s natural luxury and perfumery. Their perfumes blend and transform scents from pure, skin-friendly components such as exotic spices, rare flowers, and delicious fruits to produce uplifting and genderless perfumes.

Brand Ethos

PORCELAIN make natural perfumes from pure ingredients that are as kind to you as they are to the planet. Perfumes from PORCELAIN use no synthetic compounds or parabens. Slow beauty, patience and natural ingredients are all core values in PORCELAINS business model and the result is quite amazing!

The Comarché Notes

Sustainable highlights on brand level

Product Lifecycle

Design

The Design Phase is a crucial part of determining a product’s sustainable capabilities. We’ve chosen to highlight a few genius steps that enable a sustainable product right from the beginning.

    Material & Material Extraction

The materials used for a certain product and how these materials come to life are of crucial importance to the sustainable capabilities we seek in products.

      Transportation of Materials

This step relates to the transportation of the raw materials from when they are first obtained (harvested etc.) to the production site. Obviously, the closer to the production site, the better.

        Production

Obviously, the production of a certain product has an impact on the overall level of sustainability. Luckily, many manufacturers have now taken steps towards more sustainable production methods.

          Packaging

How a brand chooses to package its products will have a significant influence of the carbon impact from packaging and transportation.

            Distribution

This step relates to the distribution of products when they have been produced. Obviously, the closer to the brand’s warehouse, the better.

              Usage

How you choose to use and take care of a product has a bigger impact than you think. Just think about how much longer a shirt lasts if it has been washed in the right way.

                End of life

At this step, there is no way out and we have to find some way of discarding our product. How we discard a product will significantly influence the opportunity of reusing materials used.
