Vintage ceramic vase in a matte glaze of warm natural colours from the 1950s. The elongated vase is by the ceramist Gunnar Andersson of Höganäs Ceramics.
This vase was handmade between 1956 and 1960 when Gunnar worked for Höganäs and before he started his own studio. Gunnar Andersson was a ceramist for Höganäs for many years, but started his own ceramics studio in the late 1950s in Nyhamsläge, Sweden. The vase is signed “Höganäs Keramik – AJ – GA”. The acronym “AJ” comprises the two owners of Höganäs Ceramics, Karl Andersson and Sigfrid Johansson. “GA” is Gunnar Andersson’s initials. The stamp used on this vase was used between 1956 and 1967.
The vase is in mint condition – without scratches, shards, cracks or the like.
